DID wrong, goddamnit – wrong DID!

What then, dear friend, when a wrong committed

Is actually this verb,

Which sometimes those who know

Of us,

Of all

Who seek and heart and sole,

Does call us to and fro like this –

Does call us to and fro?

Yes, goddamnit! Wrong I DID,

And little matters if

Wronged I was,

For wronged to be

And wrong to others

Compare so rarely fair.

I am not others,

And though they chose

To hurt me bad

For long decade sad,

I had no right to wrong anyone back:

My life and love, worth so much more

Than that which they DID choose for me.
